We are looking to offer our first mainland chef training intensive from May 10 - 14 & May 17 - 21, 2010. The training is a life-changing and transformational experience where you will learn the skills necessary to create healthy and outrageously delicious vegan and raw food cuisine.
A space has been offered to us in Port Orchard, Washington to hold the training. We would like to get a sense if this location will work for folks interested in taking the course. There is camping and budget hotel accommodations near by.
We will be accepting only 6 students and the price will be $1500 per student. This includes all trainings, a Vegan Fusion training manual and daily gourmet vegan feasts. If you are interested in taking the course, please email us at info@veganfusion.com.

Yoga in the Yurt with Michelle
Join us at a beautiful private home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. We will begin our day at noon with an hour of relaxing yoga in a magnificent yurt by Michelle Mazur. After this we dive into the world of raw food cuisine. Its a hands on opportunity to learn techniques from one of the leaders in the vegan and raw food movement. There will be plenty of food to sample! Then its back to to the yurt where we end the day at 6pm with a 15 minute restorative yoga session with Michelle.

Michelle Mazur has studied the movement of the body for over 30 years. She focuses particularly on how and why we injure ourselves and live in pain. Twelve years ago she began practicing yoga after spending her life trying to heal from injuries of the spine, lower back, and hips created from years of ballet dancing. She began studying with many of the master teachers from around the world and immersed herself in the study of yoga, its philosophy and its therapeutic aspects.
Michelle is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-500 level, along with certifications in Yoga Therapy, and Yoga Philosophy. With her personal experience and vast knowledge of yoga, she has an exceptional ability to spot an individual’s specific needs and to tailor a class or private instruction accordingly to bring relief.

Valentine’s Raw Cacao Aphrodisiac Elixir –
You have to try it to believe it!

Courtesy of Jennifer Murray and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Raw
Every ingredient in this beverage is an aphrodisiac designed by nature to enhance your senses. This elixir is a marriage of flavor with none overpowering the others. Don’t omit the salt; it is the spark that lights the fuse.
Makes 4 cups
1 cup almonds
2 (3- in.) cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp. whole cloves
6 green cardamom pods
1 tablespoon ginger, chopped small
4 cups water
4 dried figs, soaked in 1 cup filtered water
2 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon rosewater
Pinch of salt
1. Place almonds, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom pods, ginger, and 2 cups water in a blender, and blend, for 20 seconds gradually going from low speed to high speed, for 20 seconds. Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Rinse the blender well, and return spiced water to the blender.
2. Add figs, and fig soak water, cacao powder, vanilla extract, rosewater, salt, and remaining 2 cups water. Blend on low speed for 20 to 30 more seconds more or until figs are well blended.
