We are very happy to announce the formation of a Kaua'I chapter of the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii. The Vegetarian Society of Hawaii is a not-for-profit volunteer organization founded in 1990 to promote human health, animal rights, and protection of the environment by means of vegetarian education. With more than 2000 members, it's among the largest vegetarian societies in the nation.
We will be holding a vegan potluck the first Sunday of every month from noon to 3pm at the Kapa 'a Neighborhood Center. The first meeting will be on Sunday April 1st. Dr. Gordon LaBedz will be speaking on the benefits of a vegetarian diet. We are offering a special veggie prize for the best vegan dish. One of the special features will be contributions of original veggie and vegan recipes from our Garden Island cooks.

Brendan Brazier is a shining example of the optimal health that can ensue by following a plant based diet.
