c Pecans, or other nuts
1 ½ c Dates, pitted
¼ tsp Cinnamon powder
1⁄8 tsp Ginger powder (optional)
Pinch Nutmeg, ground
Pinch Cardamom powder
Pinch Sea salt
Loving Preparation
1. Place nuts in food processor and chop fine. Add spices and pulse
a few times to evenly distribute. Add dates and process until the
mixture either balls up or keeps pushing up the side and not falling
back into the center.
2. Using hands (it helps to keep fingers moistened with water)
press the mixture into an 8” pie pan or spring form pan.
3. Fill with one of the following fillings.
Variations
Many variations are possible depending upon the nuts and seeds
used. The dates may be replaced with raisins or other dried fruit.
Try adding 1 Tbl of spirulina powder for a tasty way to include
this nutrient in your diet.
Serving Suggestion
Excellent when served with hazelnuts.
If you use a spring form pan, sides may be decorated with shredded
coconut or chopped nuts.
